The Story Behind Malle: A Personal Take on Ethical Fashion

Malle didn’t start with just another business plan. It was built with a painting, a tattoo, and a wildly creative brain that just wanted to make people smile.

Founder Mallika didn’t set out to launch a typical fashion brand in India. With a background in branding, art, and design, she had something far more personal in mind: a label that was a direct extension of herself. A little quirky. A little chaotic. And very, very real.

The idea: Don’t take life too seriously. Tap into joy. Create clothes that are expressive, bold, and emotionally resonant.

We think your wardrobe should make you laugh a little. It should surprise you. It should feel like a reflection of who you are, or who you’re becoming. That’s why everything we make carries meaning.

Whether it’s a juice box stitched onto a hoodie (inspired by a real tattoo Mallika has), or a wide-eyed monkey from an old painting, every motif is rooted in something personal. Nothing’s random. Everything’s intentional.

In a world obsessed with fast fashion and fleeting trends, Malle is here to cut through the clutter. We're not chasing seasons or algorithms. We’re building a home for storytelling, self-expression, and small-batch design that lasts.

We’re proudly imperfect. We don’t have all the answers. But we do have a deep belief that fashion should invite more play, more honesty, more personality into your everyday life. It should nurture your inner child, not mute them.

And if we can give you a little joy in your closet–and maybe even a few compliments on the street–we’ll count that as a win.
