What is Sustainable Fashion, Really?
The term sustainable fashion gets thrown around a lot, but the truth is, it’s a messy concept to explain. There’s no perfect definition, no universal rulebook.
And honestly, there’s no such thing as being 100% sustainable in fashion.
Not yet, anyway.
At Malle, we’re not here to police your wardrobe or make big, bold claims. We’re just here to be honest.
Sustainability, for us, isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being better. It’s about paying attention to the energy, water, and resources that go into making what we wear. It’s about thoughtful trade practices, working with vetted partners, and producing in small batches.
It’s about offering you clothes that feel joyful and expressive without being heavy on your conscience.
We get it: questioning every micro-decision can get exhausting. That’s why we believe in flexible sustainability, a mindset where even small actions matter.
Buying less.
Buying better.
Choosing natural fibres.
Supporting ethical fashion brands that are trying (not pretending).
We also believe that big shifts–the ones that actually move the needle–come from collective action and policy change.
But until then, we’ll keep designing with intention, transparency, and a little bit of humour.
So no, we’re not here to save the planet with one t-shirt.
But if we can make you pause, think, and smile? That’s a start we’re proud of.
